Celebrating Harps Together: Harpers Unite, Celebrate and Collaborate
Harps Together Lá na Cruite │Harp Day 2022 takes place on Saturday October 15th with live and online events planned all over the world. For the sixth year in a row, Irish harpers extend a warm invitation to harpers everywhere to join with them in celebrating the 1000-year-old Irish harping tradition.
At the museum on Saturday, see an exhibition of harp making by Galway makers Ériú Harps and Callan Harps Brian Callan of Callan Harps makes a range of fully hand-crafted lever harps made from locally sourced, naturally felled Irish native timber where possible. His harps are designed to suit all ages and abilities. Natalie Surina of Ériú harps concentrates on making copies of the early Irish harp with metal strings with carving and decoration. Natalie also repairs all types of harp.
