TALK & DISPLAY: Gaelic Arms & Armoury

October 28 @ 2:00 am - 3:30 pm UTC+0

The Keepers of the Gael at Galway City Museum explores Gaelic society and culture in Ireland between 1200 and 1600, a period of conflict bookended by the Anglo-Norman invasion and the Tudor conquest. Join Dave Swift of Claíomh (‘sword’ in the Irish language) Living History as he discusses medieval warfare in Ireland and shares the material culture (weapons, armour, clothing, and equipment) and stories of the Gaelic Irish as they struggled to maintain control of their ancestral lands and way of life.

This event is free of charge, but advance booking is advised as seating is limited.
