WORKSHOP: Sewing 101 – How to Use a Sewing Machine
April 22 @ 10:15 am - 11:15 am UTC+0
Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew but don’t know where to start? Do you have a sewing machine that you cannot use? If so, join Eimear Greaney of Upsew (www.upsew.ie) and Cathriona Naughton for this machine sewing workshop for beginners, ‘Sewing 101 – How to Use a Sewing Machine’.
This event is being organised to coincide with Fashion Revolution Week, 22 to 29 April 2023. Founded in 2013, Fashion Revolution is a movement that strives for ‘a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit’. Among its aims are ‘an end to throwaway culture and shift to a system where materials are used for much longer and nothing goes to waste’.
This event is free of charge. Places are limited so advance booking is advisable: email museum@galwaycity.ie or call (091) 532460. Sewing machines are provided, but you are welcome to bring along your own.
Suitable for adults and teenagers (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult).
