ILLUSTRATED TALK: Albert Power & his Galway Works
Albert Power (1881-1945) was unusual in that he was both a fine art sculptor and a stone-carver. Join Dr. Síghle Bhreatnach-Lynch, former curator of Irish art at the National Gallery of Ireland and author of Expressions of Nationhood in Bronze and Stone: Albert G. Power RHA (2019), as she discusses Power and his Galway works, including his famous statue of Pádraic Ó Conaire that resides in the museum.
