HeART of Gaza is an exhibition of artworks by 26 Palestinian children, aged 3 to 17, showcasing the reality of childhood in a genocide. The exhibition is a collaboration between Palestinian community worker, Mohammed Timraz (Deir al Balah, Gaza), and Irish architect, Féile Butler (Sligo).
Each of the artworks are accompanied by the young artist’s personal statement, giving the viewer an intimate insight into the things they love, the things they miss, the people they have lost, and the sights they have seen. Emotional, heartbreaking and uplifting, HeART of Gaza is moving audiences all over the world, and confirms that children just want to be children, no matter how difficult their circumstances. The exhibition will run until early 2026.
The following is a selection of artworks currently on display in HeART of Gaza. View the full exhibition Monday to Saturday, from 9 am – 1 pm and from 2 pm – 5 pm in the Tourist Office gallery at Galway City Museum. Admission is free!
