William Orpen’s Wartime Painting

FreeIn 1917, the Irish artist William Orpen (1878-1931) was appointed an official war artist. One of his works, depicting Lieutenant-Colonel of the Irish Guards, George Henry Morris (1872-1914) from
An Spideal, Co. Galway, is currently on display in the museum. Join art historian Anne Cormican as she discusses Orpen with a particular focus on his wartime paintings. Age 12+
