TALK: The Egg & Easter Food Traditions
March 31, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm UTC+0
FreeTraditionally in Ireland, people did not eat eggs during the Lenten fast. So all eggs were used up, in pancakes and so on, on Shrove Tuesday before Lent, and on Easter Sunday people feasted on the accumulated eggs. Join author Margaret Hickey as she tells the story of the humble egg in the Irish diet and the Easter connection, drawing on research for her forthcoming book, Ireland’s Green Larder.
