PERFORMANCE: The Great Push

October 20, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm UTC+0

Free

Written from the trenches in 1915 and published the following year, Patrick MacGill’s The Great Push has been described as “one of the most famous of all war books […] the most vivid depiction of the actualities of war ever penned.” This one-man show with actor Gerry Conneely captures the humanity and pathos of MacGill and his comrades who went ‘over the top’ on the 25th of September 1915.

As part of the Decade of Commemorations programme, this event has received funding from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht through Galway City Council.
