JFK in Galway
June 29 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm UTC+0
Sixty years ago, on 29 June 1963, US President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the great-grandson of Irish emigrants, was made a Freeman of Galway in Eyre Square. To mark the anniversary, on Thursday 29 June, Galway City Museum will host a screening of a new short documentary entitled JFK – The Three Miles.
Directed by Pamela Finn and co-funded by Galway City Council, the 24-minute film tells the story of JFK’s visit to Galway through the eyes of those present on the day. The documentary will be shown on repeat between 10am and 4.30pm. There is no charge, and booking is not required.
