DEMONSTRATION: Bobbin Lacemaking
July 30, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm UTC+0
FreeWith origins in 15th-century Italy, bobbin lace is the oldest form of lace known in Ireland. Unlike needlepoint lace, which is made with a single-thread technique using embroidery stitches, bobbin lace is made with a variety of multiple-thread weaving techniques. Join members of the Headford Lace Project as they demonstrate their developing skills, having recently revived this activity in the community.
